:) Mike's Mystery Tool Teaser # 8 :)

This is another "Industry Specific" tool, and which I think was never available commercially off the shelf, but was available on request from "The Provider".
It will surely bring back memories for those of us who used it.
Some clues there for some, or possibly a deeper mystery for others.

Obtained in 1978 in Brisbane.

It is 90 mm long, 20 mm wide, and weighs 40 grms.

What is it, and who made it?

This is a Telstra Tool Number 89, a "jumper" wire stripper used in telephone exchanges and similar electronic environments.
Supplied to employees of government departments.

Used to strip the PVC covering from individual 0.6 and 0.5 mm single strand tinned copper wire.
And, ...excellent for stripping most small diameter stranded wire, without nicking the strands.

The serrated edge just allows a more easier "grab" of a wire, without being too fiddly.

A very sturdy well made tool.

No, I didn't work for Telstra.

I sense weather ahead.
Bye for now.
Mike
