Alder bowl

Spend my time partly last week with making a pretty big alder bowl with the dimensions of DxH 300x180mm. Wallthickness 12mm.
Finished with three layers blanc transparent lacquer.

Top Bowl.
I was wondering what it looked like i have a trunk in my garage 1.5meters high by 500mm diameter. I was wondering to slab it or make bowls. Looks like plenty of grain paterns as it has a lot of buble type burly looking bits out the side.

Thanks Jamie, I have 5 more suchs big alder trunks of that size in my woodstore waiting for there turn. I agree, you can cut them into slabs, very nice for flatwork.
But using this big trunk for bowls would be a good alternative, so think carefully what you are going to do with your trunk. Wish you good luck.
