Hi.
Recently I've had this crazy idea of making some new bedside tables. I've never really tried making anything like this before but I believe that I am capable. The tools that I have at the moment are a Bosch compound slide mitre saw, a festool guide rail saw a quality router table, and I'm thinking of buying a thicknesser soon. The thing that's bugging me at the moment is what sort of timber to use. I was thinking about using floorboards and putting them through a thicknessser and then using the router table to do the edges, or am I better off buying dressed timber planks. I would also like to know where the best places are to purchase derssed timber and quality floorboards that could be turned into furniture. I would like to use Jarrah or maybe even Merbau. What are your thoughts on these two timbers for this project.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
