has anyone tried to fill the honeycomb bit of antler with anything prior to turning in a pressure/vaccum vessel???
if not any ideas on what to use
i would think that anything that stays liquid i feel would just run out
might make it easier to turn if it was solid from the word go
thanks for your ideas

mik haven't got a got but have used thin ca flooding it till it comes out bottom of it then hitting bottom with accelator then little put bit more ca in it then hit top of blank with ca then leave it to cure for a day or 2 it does get quite hot in process but it works getting rid of the spongy centre

i have been drilling out and then pooring CA in through the hole, i think just turning it down to the soft bits will have to do, my try the peroxide next time to whiten the whole lot first though
thanks

yeah i thought that was the case
got hold of some hog deer antler which is pretty well solid most of the way through
most people like some of the soft bits showing through though
i know plenty of hunters which have given me 5 or 6 antlers so far with more to come, mostly Sambar which have lots of honeycomb in the middle
