Hi Jow104, I am also trying to access a set of plans for a tool chest like the one in your photo. Have you had any luck locating anything?

Cheers, Dom

Sorry Dom I didn't have any luck. You could always ask Gazh above for more details on his link to the chest site. If you are new to using this forum let me know and I will wake Gazh up if he doesn't reply.

See straight from the horses mouth..

or you can try plansnow. They are cheaper and you can download straight off the net.

But I guess the question must be asked, why do you need a plan at all?

Zed,

I agree with your point of view on plans, I hold the same view. I think half the fun is in the designing but not everyone holds that view.

Jow, would you like one of us to get a copy of the magazine for you?

Jow,

Get the Australian Woodsmith mag, the article will give you ideas on timber, design and construction methods you can then choose to follow it or modify it to your needs.

Who knows one day you might be perfect like Zed and Woodborer and know everything.:D

I think Woodborer made a mistake once, about 1988, and Zed has plenty of time to make one as he's only 1 year old. :D :D

Happy,

I don't think that designing your own work is a "know it all attitude" and I am sorry you took it that way. I am perfectly capable of designing things that don't fit together and things that don't look 100% as well as things that I am proud to display.

If you haven't experienced the pleasure of designing anything for yourself then I suggest you try because it can be rewarding - it might even make you a happier Happy.

Termite, I can't recall making a mistake in 1988 apart from probably not buying my wife a better 10th wedding anniversary present. :D

Jow,

Forgot you were in blighty, don't suppose you get Aussie Woodsmith over there? You could probably order a back issue from their website if you get desperate.

Happy,

I haven't got much hair so losing a bit more is neither hair nor thair!!!!!

I don't think Jow will be offended but 10 points to you for thinking of others.

Happy,

That is why I offered to purchase it for him to give it to him when he visits here in the next few weeks. It was on another thread titled Motor Home or something similar.

Optimark has replied to me privately.

It appears he has come into the position of receiving 2 magazines for the month in question and has kindly offered to forward one of his copies on to me.

So that is one of the pleasures I am looking forward to on the trip. :)
