That's an integrated clamp and bosshead that's used for holding scientific glassware, eg burettes, stills, condensers, fractional distillation columns and the like, on a stand. More often you see the clamps and bossheads separate.
BTW, the stand is most often called a retort stand. But they are also used on frame-like stands too.

Thanks Mate. I saw and photoed it down at the Sunday Markets. The bloke took it off the table until I found out what it is.

AFAIK it's just called a laboratory clamp, or just a clamp.
