My husband is going to Memphis 3rd July for 10 days. Can anyone tell us if there are any turning suppliers in that area? He wants to check out anything a bit different.
Thanks,
Shirley

Don't know anything about turning there, but I was there in April.

A few things to try and do.

Gibson guitar factory is worth a visist.
The Sun City tour was fantastic.
Graceland was enjoyable.
Beale Street at night is a must

Which Memphis? And how big is "that area"?

Cheers,
Joe

This should get you started. If the turners in Memphis are half as friendly and helpful as the Aussies, meeting just one should open the whole city.

For those of us not privy to inside information, what in blue flaming blazes is "Yella Terra"?

Did a search, which brought up a learned discussion of km / l. of biodiesel.

I have a "yellow peril" (danger to itself and others) 1967 Chevrolet 1 ton - factory rated for 7500 lbs., utility body - cabinets on the sides, hydraulic lift on the back, 5600 lbs empty, which gets 13 miles per US gallon on gasoline (5.53km per liter), down hill with a tailwind.

Do Aussies use Imperial gallons or US gallons? Or have you completely gone to liters?

The " Yella Terra " is my beautiful Woodfast lathe that I bought at last year's Woodshow - the best money I ever spent.

It gets a pretty fair workout now Artme. Great machine.
