Hi everyone - The first round of woodworking courses were great. So we have scheduled a second round for July/August.

A fantastic course for learning the basics of furniture making. Based around a contemporary and elegant hall table, participants are encouraged to incorporate their own design elements to create a unique hall table of their own.

As well as the finished chair, this course includes a full set of jigs you can take home. With these you can build a complete set of matching chairs in your own workshop.

This is a unstructured demonstration session covering a number of topics depending on the interests of the participants on the day. Topics include:


Process for flawless joints every time - including glue up.
Basic set-up and maintenance.
Three way mitre joint.
Handmade furniture cabinet handles.
Rebating and trenching.
Marking and measuring gauges.
Under-table button morticing.
Breadboard end joining
Decorative mitre corner spline - horizontal, vertical, including jig.
Door and draw pulls
Domi-bench dogs,
Traditional tennons
Dominoing curved panels.


Bring along a camera and notepad to capture as much information as you can.

Our courses are conducted by Terry Fogarty, an experienced furniture maker and innovative woodworker. Terry holds a Diploma of Arts (Furniture Design) from the Australian School of Wood.
