Has anyone ever made a new baseplate for their circular saw?
I didn't know whether to put this here of metalwork forum, but anyway... I have a 1800w GMC laser-guided 185mm circular saw (which is out of warranty), the base plate is very badly designed  Firstly the base plate isn't straight with the blade, the base plate edge isn't straight, the height adjustment "guide" isn't straight and I can never get it to cut at 90° even with the adjustment screw. This never bothered me until now :(
So, I'm endeavoring to make a new base plate out of aluminium. I don't need any bevel adjustment but I still want to adjust the depth of cut.
Has anyone got photos of their home-made base plates?
