Hello Everyone--A few weeks ago I posted my first "Hollow Vase" I said that on the next turning I would try to finish another one, this time with a 3mm wall thickness, everything was going well photo --1-- When--:o Bang --a DIGin bl#()&^% There it was in 2 pieces--photo -2- -so after a change of underware and a coffe--back to the lathe to see if it could be saved. I decided to make a Lidded Box insted. so remounted top
of turning back on the lathe and turned to fit bottom part.photo--3--
Then I turned a bottom from a piece of the same wood ,photo --4-
Ready to be glued --photo--5-- and finished photo --6--
Now I'll have to wait a month or so till it dries,,At this stage I didn;t cut the opening for the lid to minimise wood movement.
Cheers Tony,:B:-
