Hi,

I'm new to the forum - very much an amateur.

Posted this in the Table Saw Forum as well - but seems this Forum has more discussion on these saws.

Am seeking info on a service manual for a Ryobi EMS2025SCL Compound Mitre Saw.

I have one which is just over 1 month out of the 2 year warranty and lo and behold the motor decided to "take off" - ie, started over-revving and slight smoke/smell of insulation overheating plus unable to turn off on switch on saw - quick dive to wall switch to turn off!

Tried it again after a suitable "cooling off" period and goes into same state.

Looked at the compliance plate and it's manufatured in "PRC" - so much for buying Japanese!

As it is out of warranty and I am qualified to play with electrical items, I am about to pull it apart and see if it can be "salvaged".

Before I do that, was wondering if there is any "service" information available - eg, manual or general info on Ryobi electric motors. Have searched the Web to no avail!

Also if anyone else has experience similar problems.

May end up, having looked at various posts on this forum, having to fork out and buy a "decent" saw, as have found it very useful for a wide variety of tasks!

Would appreciate any advice/assistance.
