Beautiful work, but since the tree is living, won't the carving effectively ring bark the tree?

I dont know if it is mainly real carvings or carvings placed on the tree the brass disc is supposedly embedded in the tree I got the pictures from my mother in the states though but it looked to cool not to share.

Movie prop perhaps?
but very well done
the alligator is definitely cast from something and added,
and the two baboons bark fur, and the snakes head scales etc.
still has me intrigued though,

Not photshoped cause my mom has seen the tree but could be placed I know that at least some of them are in the natural tree but the artist might have realy liked adding to his creation with casts and carvings. but I reckon it looks beautiful which ever way it is done but would love to know the story behind the tree. And imagine the size of the slabs you could get from the tree if it ever came down lol.

Sorry folks but I've been told it is called the "Tree of Life" and is at Disney World in Florida.
There is a Brilliantly carved tree in the Fitzroy Gardens Melbourne called "The Fairys Tree" Carved in the 30's byOla Cohn,it's real and I fondly remember visiting it on numerous occasions as a child.

It is doing the rounds on the internet e-mail circuit at present.
I think most of the animals are moulded rather than carved.Cliff.
If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.
