In the end I used black and yellow printer ink as stain,with artist paints on the beaks legs and around the eyes, as you can see the black did bleed a bit, it is the first carving that i have done that I have tried to paint, and probably the last, Im not happy with the end result

I sympathise. Don't like paint much myself. But I have to say that one really cant tell anything with the photo as small as it is. Could we get a larger version?

yes it is small, the reason being, that when I tried to post it the first few time'S it kept telling me that the picture was to big, and to resize it, so i spent hours trying and finally got that. and haveing no idea how I'd done it, it was a case of post that or nothing, any way I'll try again later,CD.
