Cardigan stick
Just been asked to make a walking stick for sister inlaw. Never made a walking stick yet .
Shes a jolly person and even tho she will need a tempory walking stick thought it would be nice to do something for her,
i am one for seeing work in progress so here i go
The handle is lime wood. the hole is to take a 9mm hardwood dowel to strengthen the handle and will prevent the handle breaking if it falls with the cap shaped from water buffalo horn
i have yet to finish shaping the handle and seal the wood but may burn her initials on it .
wasnt to sure where to place this? but it seems the right place

Hoping a friend will turn a shank from some ash ,then will stain it ebony ? I will also fix a couple of water buffal collars with a bone collar sandwich in the middle
Would love to get a lathe but space is tight

very nice looking shape you have there
However, I'm concerned that the cross grain, even with the internal dowel, won't be strong enoughregards from Alberta, Canada
