Too funny Springwater! You were totally right first time. I uploaded images that were the size of cuticles, as opposed to thumbnails, and about as much use. But I nearly fell off my chair when you mentioned 'mirage'. This is what I've named this horse-they all get plaques, so how's that my psychic friend? I've made the rockers out of silver ash and carved the base to look like rippled sand.
And thanks for the nice things said guys. As I said before, it means a lot. I've made about half a dozen or so Spirit.

Hello all,
Sorry for butting in here but i thought this might be a good place to post this request. I have been looking through some of the carvings done by members here. I'm very impressed with what i have seen so far. Anyway, i'm building a dedicated home cinema with an Art Deco design. Depending on the price i would like to get a couple of things carved for the walls. Here are a few pics of some of th designs i like. If you could leave me a message on pricing that would be great!! Thanks all!
1. the lions heads would need to be about 130mm W x 220mm H
2. The LONG deco panels would be about 1800mm
3. The square panel about 400 x 400

A client of mine finally sent me some pics of a work I did last year.(The pictures are crap-that's what happens when you let somebody else do the job for you.Sorry..)
It's traditional Spanish "paso", used for the Holly Week processions. It's made of cedar, and to get this commission was a real honor for me, since I'm not Spanish, and even not a Catolic! But I'll have to get some better pics of it...It's a slow and painful process...the secret is, dont mind the pain.(Ian Norbury)

I've really enjoyed looking at the work posted by everyone so I'll dive in the deep end with a picture of my first carving (other stuff I've done probably doesn't qualify as carving). This is a cane made for a "theatrical" friend, the W.A. jarrah shaft was turned (first time I've ever turned anything) and then shaped. The Qld White Beech skull was carved and then I used a pyro pen to bring out some detail.
