    Melaleuca
    ericifolia
    Swamp Paperbark

Is the bark almost white with fawn/brown tinges and flakey? Grows with an upright habit, seen in stands close together? Has a small pointy leaves, a little prickly with small cream flowers in clusters, I think in spring/summer? Doesn't seem to live long, often snaps half way up the trunk and likes wet areas?

Actually SPIRIT, I resent that comment, I don't know what you mean or where it came from unless it's your own conscience that's troubling you. Following it with a doesn't do it for me. You say you don't know anything about wood, I could tell you where to stick it if that helps.
