my first carving
decided to have a go at some carving today but as you all know i dont do things by halves so i got out my chainsaw and a camphor log and got stuck in.
i wont ebaris myself by telling you what its meant to be.

Good on you, Carl! I've no idea whether what you've done is any good, but it looks like a good effort to a eejit like me. You obviously know how to handle a chainsaw if nothing else.

duno weather ill put a tail on it or not wadda ya recon?
i was thinking of giving it a spray witt some type of good outdoor varnish?
i used me ms170 smallest they make.

Nice work, Carl. I must've missed it when you posted it. It looks a lot like a manatee, or sea cow. We have 'em all over Florida, and on one of our specialty licence plates too.
Spar varnish works well on outdoor sculptures, but sanding between coats is a PITA for the detail regions.
