I've only recently signed up to this site, and looked at quite a number of projects, but this one blows me away - it's simply awesome!

The workmanship & patience is amazing. Well done.

Hey Spirit, this is totally gorgeous. I loved the hands from the start, and wasn't too sure about the 'nudie chick' idea, but it looks beautiful. Thanks for posting the WIP pics.

Hi Arty. When you first described your idea, the hands grasping to hold the girl/tree nymph of the woods, the picture in my mind was like the one below. If the hands just hold the base of a statue the "spirit" seems to be missing. What do you think?

    G'day arty,
I've been watching this WIP since Feb and the tree root bit within the hands is fan-bloody-tastic. I'm not sure about the nudie attached on top.......but I'll wait until the next installment....I shouldn't comment any further, as I don't know where you're heading with this.
Just wanted to say..I watch and enjoy.....well done

    hi franky
yes something is not just right at the mo been in the shed for a few hours mucking around with it you see l still have the first idea in my head the one with the tree but l don't have the wood l need so l use what l have and l realy wonted to do a nude woman (the big nude bloke in the loungeroom is a good converstion starter)there is another stage comming up this may help with the spirit feeling lm after well there is two ideas one is sommthing comming out of her hands (have to wait for the photo)
the other is somming l said earlyer ,branches comming out of her back in the shape of wings ,just don't know l can carve that well yet
so to answer your question in around about way that is why she standing higher so to mack room for the wings

post any idea frank it helps see yu
