Chinese gouges
Not sure if the saying "if it sounds too good to be true it probably is" applies. Wood carvers Inc.out of Florida advertises a set set of 20 Asst.gouges suitable for carving carousel horses and wood sculpting for two hundred dollars.Wondering if any of you have had any experience with Chinese chisels and gouges. Any opinions pro or con would be most appreciated.

chinese steel is generally softer than most woodcarving tools, I would opt for Henry Taylor, Pfeil, or any of the cheaper Austrian or German tools, they have a better quality to the metal, of course if you don't mind the time wasted in constantly honing the edge of the chinese tools just so you can complete a project, the old adage "you get what you pay for" definitely applies here.
