    Default Coral fan

Coral fan, the base is in plum and the fan Huon Pine, finish is Danish oil. Been wanting to try something like this for a while so I'm just having a short break from Aussie animals and had a crack at this, good fun but slow process, the fan started at 18mm thick and ended up about 7mm , it has to be thin though, hope you like it.

    Thanks Claude,
Germaine, thanks, you should give it a shot, it would go well with crustacean carvings.

Yeh I reckon it would Rob. I've recently carved a fox & an owl and I'm in the middle of another octopus I like carving fur and feathered things but always seem to end up back in the sea Coral would be a nice change with their beautiful free flowing forms. I like the way your coral is wavey.
Too many choices, too little time.

Ah yes, I know what you mean, I really need to get back and finish my animal stand, my Wombat has found a new home in Melbourne so I will have to carve another and about 4 other animals. I will revisit the coral theme when I get those done.
