Well done, love those Easter Island figures. Have you seen the one in The Louvre?

I love it to bits. I have always been fascinated by the Easter Island figures and have wanted to make one for the garden for a long time.
I cant recall seeing one at the Louvre but I do have a photo with the one in the British Museum which I will be using as a plan. Now proudly sponsored by Binford Tools. Be sure to check out the Binford 6100 - available now at any good tool retailer.

Hmmm
I have just dug out some very old bits of crappy red cedar that was sold to me as wood turning blanks about 20 years ago.... I think I have just seen something they will be good as.
Idea saved.Cliff.
If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.

Moai. Stone. 10 - 20m tall and 80 - 270 tons. Moved many kilometers from the quarry.
The style and the nearly silent history have fascinated me since I was a kid.
Thanks, andy. . . . really set off my memories.

Nice work Andy!!!
I have always been fascinated by the Moai too. Even after half a dozen trips to Easter Island, where I am known to nearly all the Moai , I am still fascinated by them.

Thank you guy's,
glad to see i'm not the only one around that love's the big ones, hehe.
I have seen the one in the Louvre a couple of years back when i was there for the weekend ( i live about a 4 hours drive from there ), too bad it was just a weekend, i could have stayed there for a month and still not be bored, but that's me when i see beautifull creations, can't get enough of it.
Artme, i'm jealous of you, been there so many times, well, maybe one day.
grt andy
P.S. thanks Jack, coming from you it means a lot to me, you're only my biggest hero when it comes to working with wood, love you're work
