"Emily", a wood sculpture
"Emily", a wood sculpture by R. Wolf, Australia
Material: Lime
Size: 3" tall
This lovely lady has been captured during a moment of sheer wanton exuberance, kneeling at ease and feeling the earth beneath her, the sky above and her place in it.
She was hand carved with knife and gouge in Lime wood and finished with oil for a deep colour and lovely tones. Measuring 3" tall, she has long hair, a lush, full body and her face is lifted to the heavens.
This is my first piece carved in Australia

Hi Raven, Nice piece. I particularly like that she's only 3" high.

She has all the other things, but where is her face , and she has no fingers.

Most of my pieces do not have faces most don't have arms let alone fingers. Might work on that when I get things scaled up

The simple suggestion of body parts is plenty for the pose.
Good work.
If she were a model for a larger work, I'd be disappointed to see more detail.

You finally made it then. Welcome! What suppliers are you after? Nice piece - again, very good 3D work... true carving in the round is hard to come by.
