I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.

The eye is a standard Michaelangelo students study..origionally from a "David" detail (I think)...It's from a great reference book by Eduard Lanteri (he was one of Rodins teachers),.."Modelling, a guide for teachers and students"...I try and regularly do these traditional studies..(just to keep my eye in )

what if the hokey pokey is really what it's all about?

Did Michaelangelo put the 'love heart' pupil in the original. I have to admit, I thought that was a touch of yours. 'Beauty in the eye of the beholder'.... sort of thing.

Stunningly brilliant work! Superbly crafted and finished, witty pieces of art that are a joy and inspiration to see.

Yep.."David" had the heart shaped pupil...it had to do with the shadow that it cast gave the impression of a reflecion of light from the eye...it gave a realism to the eye that couldn't be reproduced with just a round eyeball

    Hi Undie
Great work. Your eye study is the kind of thing I want to be getting to terms with. Is there any kind of carving reference for that? A method of approach?
Gouge selection for the curve of the eyeball - that type of thing?

    Cheers
