Threads you stumble across whn the world is asleep. congrats, well done. I love your work. That it gets recognised is only fair enough.

I must reply to that.
Years ago, I worked in a joinery shop which had, for a next door neighbour, a car crash repairer. He had, of course, a spray painting booth in the shop, and there was a small hole in the corner, through which, over the years, the paints had dripped down, forming a small pyramid. One day, the boss of the shop came in to us and asked if we would slice this pyramid, which had set hard, on our band saw. We did and made some shapes from it. They made fantastic patterns, with all the different colours!. He said he was going to sell it as an artistic creation. I don't know if he did or was just joking, but I wish I had had the sense to take some photo's.
I'm sure that, exhibited today, it would be hailed as a masterpiece. The collecting of facts is not the gaining of wisdom, or even knowledge; knowing that the earth is round does not prevent our falling off the edge of it.

um, about the last outburst regarding "IT", I suppose I was just trying out of interest to get Undy to explain his thoughts on the whole Florence thing. While I know most artists aren't the best at putting their feelings into mere words and answering with "I get it" is probably enough, the statement above gives me the
shITs!

...and
IT's
bloody hot and I'm short tempered with an infected tooth and broncitus and ready for a fight for the honor of the artist!!! I'm a warrior willing to fight for my troops, soldier willing to die... so
IT
goes...

Way to start my morning, springwater
nothing like a bit of righteous rage to relieve a toothache.
The whole "Florence thing" is still congealing in my head,
and although a bit cryptic, post 42 still describes it best,
BTW I'm not sure that fighting and dying for the honor
of the artist will achieve a great deal,
they're probably too busy making "art" to notice.
springwater---maintain the rage,
hope the ailments clear up soon,

Yes, yes, I'm here... I like fishing, but you should know I'm not into rage, pricking is more fun. And I am presumptuous enough to think I do "get it". Got it?

Ok ya got me going, I don't mind the heat ya bunch of eskimos, I don't like rage either but anger I will direct from time to time if I think it's warranted, sore tooth and what ever else and all. Sure got what IT is, well as far as IT will be taken here, probably best summed up with someone else's words "such is life". Been fishing too, landed this fish, who unfortunately or not, knows about pricks too and explored IT:
Attachment 67565
The most self-conscious piece of writing Whiteley ever did, apart from his thumbnail-in-tar signature, was IT of Alchemy 1972-1973, an ominous, austere pronoun uniting the notional wings of his altarpiece to nascent addiction. This IT compacted life, passion, death and faith in a single, empowering word, which, acknowledging the wonderous impossibility of alchemy and its bastard, art, he characterized as completely linguistically indescribable.
