there were many nights involving a bottle of whisky, a robusto and a stack of books... but as for any live tuition, not really.
I watched an instructional video by michael radencich and learned the foundations of salmon tying from that. prior to that I'd been tying practical fishing flies for years... so to me that isn't really self taught.
well, kind of... I don't know.
