    Default Folk Art Santa

This is something to me - I don't normally carve what I consider "folk art", but my wife wanted me to try this one. I also don't normally antique my carvings after painting, but, again, she wanted me to try it. Basswood with acrylic paint, about 210mm tall.

Very different treatment of all the design elements. For some reason, I'm attracted to the great beard and the trim on both the hat and robe.
The finishing technique certainly side-stepped any sense of "new."
