    I've just tuned in

Like the concept/model - I thought pterodactyls (yay I spelt it right)

Is this one for the sculptures by the sea thingy they have here in Sydney every so often?

Your daughter is doing great - yep it could be in the genes. I bet you've a feeling of immense pride in what she's accomplishing. I can sense it in your posts.

    great work

Yep..I'm proud of the kid..although I'm not sure it's in the genes ..
I keep getting the feeling that someone else is looking over her shoulder and giving instructions ..(pics 1+2)
then again.. maybe her ability to lose pencils is genetic..
(pic 3).."hey dad..can you pass me a pencil..they keep disapearing!"

what if the hokey pokey is really what it's all about?

Sensational, I think Kevin needs some KPE (Kookaburra Protection Equipment) and I have to let my hair grow so I can have a pencil bun. Keep up the great work SG.

Yeah..I know, and I'm a bit happy about it
Daughter no.1 has just started the third component and this one ties the other two together (tricky)
but she's taken ownership of the whole thing and only bothers me when she needs dumb muscle and a couple of extra opposable thumbs

what if the hokey pokey is really what it's all about?

Just spotted this thread. No idea why I missed it. Great concept. Wonderful to see the progeny working in with you or was actually without you? Either way it's great to see the chemistry. I wonder who is getting the most out of this experience.

You don't have to answer that, but I do have some spare hankies (mens) if you wish.

As to the sculpture itself I think it is wonderful. I agreed with the sickle aspect but also could see a rotor or propellor. In any event for me, particularly with abstracts, sculpture is about space and this has oodles of it.

    Love it.

    Regards
    Paul

    That'd be me mostly...

.she's only learning how to use drills, bandsaw, jigsaw, measuring stuff from tape to verniers, mig welder, angle grinders, firstaid kit, how to apply her school maths, how to use her eye, how to guesstimate, etc etc etc...

Me on the otherhand have gained a small insight into how a teenage daughter works...priceless

So Undie, when do we get to hear D1 alias Super Girls side of the experience working with Dad?
She would come to the forum with a huge amount of respect after seeing this.

    Default sculpture by the sea

This is the sort of work that fits the S by the S template. I ve been to everyone, own some much smaller(much cheaper) pieces by some of the sculptors that exhibit . A big piece like this would really suit that outdoor clifftop space. Love it
