Default Why I havent got much carving done these holidays...

This is my excuse and Im sticking to it Cut from an old file, both the blade and the spring, home tempered, Casurina Mysteriosa for scales. There are numerous things I will do differently next time, the locking mechanism is great in the two important positions but not the third, there is also some burn around where I ground off the rivets. Great fun and Im bursting with ideas now. As for all of the other stuff I had to do Im sure the management will understand..

Love the folding blade idea. Been modifying commercially produced pocket knives for years but yours is the first folding carving knife I've seen that's purpose built. Would love to have a chat about blade shapes some time. In my experience you can't do it all with one shape.. though the 'warncliff' shape you've chosen is a good 'all rounder' for most things.

Partially it is based on my frustration with the Flexcut folding knives which are just butt ugly IMO. The mechanics of building folding knives is pretty widely available on the net and the aesthetics... well I have a few ideas for the next couple. My concern was as much aesthetic as it was practical. I can see there would be problems with very thin pointy blade shapes as you tried to open and close the blades. Were you thinking particular shapes Whittling?
