    Default Hello, I am New

So, I'm pretty much brand spanking new to the woodworking field, I used to carve miniature ducks (just... ducks, nothing else) when I was a kid. My dad would cut the basic form out with the scroll saw and I'd carve them with a pocket knife. Haven't done much since then.

That being said: yes, I am very new. And I want to get back into it. Anyone have any tips for newbies?

Start small, decide what you would like to make that would inspire your passion and creativity. What made you decide to get back into woodwork? Did a duck fly past?

Haha, very funny. Actually I sort of just remembered doing it and was like "hey! That was a cool hobby I used to have!" and that was pretty much it. No dramatic, 3am epiphany.

Do you know of any small, simple woodworking patterns/projects I could immerse myself in, as a beginner?

    Welcome aboard Krisology,
my advice would be to do that which sparks great interest/passion, and that way the rest usually follows. To just have a go and not get bogged down with 'rules' and conventions. Just be safe and enjoy the journey.
