    Default Help to identify a type of wood, please.

    Hello, I acquired this carving and at first did not believe it was a natural carving but it is and now we are trying to decide what kind of wood it is.     Yes agree with Acco, it does look like olive.
    The cross section also looks like "Caragana" from a shrub (also called Siberian Pea) that grows in Canada
