snowey river horseman
100_0394-1.jpgThis carving is copied from a poster for the film, it is done on a peice of found wood, "ELM" slabbed with a chain saw,an electric plane to smooth it , the rest I only used hand tools, it is finished with Tung oil

Great job CD... ..lots of movement ...nice dynamic...and the loud colours of the wood work for this piece...
what if the hokey pokey is really what it's all about?

You've preserved a moment in time. Good.
I spent a lot of my spare time between Mt Beauty and the Cleve Cole Hut up Bogong in the years that I was at LaTrobe Uni.
Your carving and the film bring back many fond memories (rain/shine/snow).

Thank you. Yes the colour of the timber worked in well I thought, I spent many years around Tallangatta,& corryong, so" The Man From Snowy River Festival" as well as the film has been an insperation for the carving, I also have a carving of Craigh's hut out of the film, CD
