Springwater, I've got to say when you started this thread I thought, "What the..." and didn't get it. That may be because I'm terrible at anything that looks like Art. As you progressed on the first page I followed it without a lot of interest.
Wow - how different is my interest now!!! I can't wait to see the finished product as it already looks amazing. I've loved seeing the ever-changing bench top and, if I just looked at the wheel assemblies now, I wouldn't be able to appreciate the amount of work and the design element that has gone into them. Thanks for keeping us informed of progress. Continue to do so.

The work is fantastic but the background to your pics is spoiling it for me. Maybe something plain that emphasises the great work you’re doing.

Love the work bench. Enjoying its evolution as much as the trikes.

Unfortunately I’m a protractor and micrometer guy, but always enjoyed Dr. Seuss and respect chaos!

I don’t give my workbench much thought. It just hangs around with me. It’s practical and flat...ish...and is at hand when I have left over paint to use up and/or want to record thoughts and lyrics from songs I hear...it’s like a scrap book. I have many others hanging around while others may get cut up for a quick jig or something, they are all considered expendable.

Here’s some roughed out seats in progress. The stems are just so I can have a firm grip on them. The timber is Western Red Cedar which was a bit of a cop out but I need to get these all done in a few weeks and WRC is quick to shape.

Western Red Cedar is OK, I've been carving mostly WRC for the past 20 years.
I'd object to the sharp rim on the seats = would prefer something more akin to a mushroom cap.
    My cheeks will thank you.

    You're absolutely right.
When you need to whip up a shape to see how it looks or works, WRC is the place to begin.

Thanks for all your comments. This can be a lonely pursuit at times and your feedback helps bring some sense of companionship. ThereÂ’s a big push on now to finish with little time to spare.

SO five of them were intended for a show which is now like most of 2020 — postponed. The heats off but it’ll give me more time for some optional extras i’d like to do such as horns, baskets, birds other stuff too. So with the wind out of my sails, here they are thus far:
