Letter punches
I am making some thin bookmarks and want to put my name on them. Carving would be slow and difficult because the letters need to be fairly small and I would have to buy several small gouges to do it the way I want. As you all know, these are also very difficult to sharpen. It has also been suggested to me that I use letter punches. Does anyone know of a source for different styles and types of letter punches?

Hi Charles
Have you checked out suppliers of leatherworking gear? Leatherworkers tend to use quite an array of punches including lettering. Otherwise, an engineering supplies like Blackwoods may be helpfull though I doubt they will have many styles.
Good luck.
Shaun.

Dear Shaun,
Thanks for the tip. I have bben able to find a number of letter punches in leatherwork stores. None are quite right so I am going to use an engraving tool I forget I had. It is something like a Dremel.
Thanks again for your help.
Charles.
