OK, spent a couple of hours on it with the mini carver til the bloody belt broke....again.
A bit fragile that mini carver ...
Anyway, I got out my new Fordom & a nice aggressive TCT bit & did some hollowing.
Once it started to take form I stood back with a beer & a black marking pen & did some 'editing'..... then I got the chainsaw out again & 'lightened' it a bit.
I also have a 'power file' attachment for an angle grinder.
It uses a 15mm sanding belt.
I mounted it on my 5" grinder (not easy) 'cos it has variable speed.
If you run the sanding belt too fast it just flys apart. (guess how I know that?) Do we have a smiley with one eyebrow missing?
At some point I have managed to loose some photos so we are going to have to skip forward a bit.Cliff.

First we have the Power File & the Fordom.
The cylinder bit lying beside the hand piece is the aggressive TCT bit, the one in it is just HHS & not so aggressive. It is good for detail work & smoothing out the marks made by the TCT tip.Cliff.

I had the same problem some time ago with my mini Arbortech, ended up pulling it apart, realigned everything and have not had a problem since....cheers Kerry

Interesting metamorphosis Cliff . . . watching
Just picked up a Foredom myself a couple of months back and still haven't had a chance to use it. Looking for some good ideas for a stand that will also house my pyro' tools etc - an "enhancement station" so to speak

Interesting web site there Cliff, I have just purchased the Archer equivalent with reciprocating head as I found it hard to justify the $300 extra for the Foredom (hope that I don't regret it) maybe if I had known about your purchase I may have changed my mind....anyway I am very happy with the Archer to date.
TT I have attached a pic of the workstation that I quickly put together as my telescopic hangers were not strong enough to hold the Archer...still a bit of modification to go....cheers kerry
