minor deity #7
haven't posted any work for a while, mainly because many recent pieces have had more metal in them than wood.
this one's mostly wood, it's one of a series I'm working on.
title- "minor deity #7, stands about 900mm,
figure in red cedar. base in Qld myrtle and wing bones in silver ash,
the rest in machine and clock parts aluminium brass etc.
ps. if anyone has old clock/parts they want to sell I'm always lookin
what if the hokey pokey is really what it's all about?

Thanks for the feedback folks, always appreciated
Nah Ray, just did it,...what sort of fruitloop would commission something like that
not much to see in there artme.
FWIW, most pieces are just observations/ comments on stuff that happens around here.
In this case, I live in an area with lots of alternative lifestylers (old hippies)
and I'm always curious at the ability of some of my friends to construct their belief systems by appropriating bits and pieces of spiritualities from cultures they have no connection with
consequently, I,m constructing my own minor deities.
(and when complete, will have far greater super powers than all them others)
what if the hokey pokey is really what it's all about?

Very unusual stuff Undy - and I've caught myself changing position , trying to see further into the picture , as if it were a window - any picture where the whole work can be seen at once
It's a slow and painful process...the secret is, dont mind the pain.(Ian Norbury)

Hi Undie, Exceptional! Fantastic! what can I say, each piece gets better and better. Do you watch sci fi movies, have bad dreams? where does it come from?
I have been to the markets a couple of times and haven't picked up any clocks, I did grab a small set of scales that I was going to look in and see if there was anything worth while inside. I will keep looking.
