Yes, it's him. Haven't seen Silvio for ages. If he is still around, I'll try to get in touch again. As far as you not being worthy... what does that make me then?

yeah reasonably close arty. and the muscle work on the girl is carved after the piece is finished, I used a flex shaft dremel and a course cutzall burr, then masked the finished side and sand blasted.
I recently installed the big bird, here's a couple of shots

All of the above arty, shows ,galleries, competitions etc,get your work out there and seen. just keep making stuff, your best piece is your next piece, if I was going to suggest the best tool for improving carving skills , it would have to be pencil and paper.

    cheers uf

ps. got any pics of your metalwork

Underfoot, all the work you've showed us is beautiful, and that eagle is just spectacular in his setting. I look forward to seeing more of your work, and to winning Lotto so I can commission you to make me stuff!

    Underfoot
"Egrets, I've had a few" is just FANTASTIC. It appeals to me for many reasons. Thank you for sharing. Is it private piece or will it be on public show somewhere?

    Thanks

... but not too many... (not really.... )

Excellent sculpture, again. I am not a fan of painting the wood, though, it gives me the idea that what is underneath is not worth showing. The nice wood of the egrets is not painted, which increases this feeling for me. It would be interesting to know your thoughts about choosing this technique for this piece.

    Cheers
    Frank

    thanks guys.
this character keeps showing up in my work. that one is in silver ash,
stands (sits) about 800mm.he's been rough carved, his limbs have been
badly nailed and stapled together(purposely)and he's been left outside
to silver and rust.I think this fella keeps popping up because he's not exactly heroic and his story is easier to understand for us garden variety folk.
As far as painting my work,I have done,I mostly don't,
but I've seen it done very well,I reckon its a whole new skill.
Here he is again,This piece is called "cage".
it's not political by the way ,I don't do politics...
    cheers underfoot

    Yeap top stuff.

A local artist up here did a female form out of chicken wire netting over a frame of reo bar & polystyrene.
You couldn't see the frame; it looked like all chicken wire, hair included.
It was in an exhibition called 'They way I see it.'
    Cliff.
If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.
