    Default Original chisels

In the early days of the colony, they used wooden blades as chisels. These were brought to a fine sharp edge and were able to slice through bones. Not often seen these days, they are surprising and have been suggested to hospitals for bone surgery and give a smooth surface. There was a TV doco on it.

So here is the doco. Mulga wood is a bone chisel. The strength of mulga is 90-120MPa perpendicular to grain and skull-bone is 140-210MPa. 140 is bigger than 120. Anyway..
