Raven
This is a half-size raven carved for a special order. The bird's head is turned slightly to his left. There is a standard square in the background for perspective. It is about 300 mm from tip of beak to tip of tail, carved from basswood, painted with acrylic paint. I'd call this a folk-art style, since no attempt was made to make the feathers realistic. It is difficult to take a photo of something that is black...

The bird's head posture is just right. I'd be pleased to show that off in my house.
My local group is assembled for the winter. They know me. They know that there's food (dog knerbles) in the offing if the snow is deep.
One detail to be mindful of: Raven's tail is pointed a little. Crow's tail is slightly notched. I commonly exaggerate that, just to be positive.
The gloss and the feathers are good, no real need for details that my mind can fill in. Fact, photographing black is difficult.

I like it Claude. It may not be a 'true to life' style, but you've definitely caught something of the bird with this.

Well he's really "raveny " - undoubtedly you've caught him.
