A ring/jewellery holder
My daughter asked me to find something to have her page boy to carry to put the rings on. It had to be an unusually grown piece of wood which is what we love best. We found this lovely twisted up piece and went at it with a pocket knife and dremel. This was the result in stringy bark (South east of South Australia).

it seems I did something wrong with the previous post the step photos were for a post on another forum topic. I cut them out of a Stringy Bark log with the Lucus-mill. Also for the wedding.

Sooooo funny. I goota admit you had me fooled ... I wuz turnin my head up an down an side to side ... and still couldn't figure it out ... HaaHaa
Also .... If you don't mind ... SE/Sth Aust .... Did you find the Stringy Bark below Danggali National Park, or inside it.
I travelled that dirt track once in an Econo-van. My heart was in my mouth the whole way ... thought I was gunna get stuck on a dune. Its a long way from no-where at all once your far up on that track. But ... very very beautiful in its desolation.
Nice work ... Greg

Danggali National Park
No,I've never been to the Danggali National Park. When I say SE of SA I mean Mt Gambier. way down the bottom. I have about 50 acres of scrub and many Stringy's and Blackwoods and some times I get some trees blown over and so on and mill them. I collect many strange pieces for use "oneday" I'm almost finished a mounting piece now the weddings over and will post an update soon.

................and then it was mounted
Here is a couple pics of it mounted. The base is also stringy bark. A very old weathered and sand blasted piece I found in the scrub.15-03-13_1722.jpg15-03-13_1720.jpg
