Thanks NZ carver, Raav, yes definitely a hard back, I think my next novel will be an erotic one, 50 shades of Jarrah or something

The subject is a bit fuzzy. Good idea and well made.
From the texture, I'm beginning to think that Huon is a lot like our yellow cedar,
(Chamycyparis nootkatensis) which is really nice to carve.
Could be an open-and-shut case.
Are the pages hinged, at all?
Makes me wish I could carve at a pace greater than dead-slow.

Thanks folks but I can't take credit for the "wood book" idea, I saw similar online but I do take credit for werewolf.
RV, I'm glad he looks a bit fussy, he's meant to be hairy all over, this panel of Huon was probably not as waxy and more yellow than other pieces
I have used but still pretty good. The pages are just glued, I cheated a bit, I bought 2 hardback books from the op shop a $1.00 each, the ones with the loose outer
cover and plain black hard cover, had to make sure they were exactly the same size, then just carefully cut the pages out and glued in the wood but it worked well.
Thinking of doing a few more, I like the look and of course you have endless subjects you could use.
