Roman Centurion Vitis Stick
The Roman Centurion carried the vitis or vine staff which was a swagger stick about three feet in length originally made of grape vine. This made a handy weapon for a casual whack of a soldier for insubordination. This practice was known as castigato.
Shipping a Roman Centurion Vitis stick to England in a couple of days for a Roman re-enactor's use.
