To go with Night Nest a bracelet made from really really really old red gum.
Time to wrap it up.

Yep. I really, really like the bracelet.
That's my favourite sort of redgum. Lovely stuff when it's aged almost black like that. You've certainly done it justice.

Right oh, think'll just stay here now so on to the second of four nameless things I'm making from Pallet wood. Moving along at a blinding snails pace as usual, I made a frame and working surface out of Skip wood wood and temporarily fixed the pieces down to it. Next step is to fire up the steak brander and brand some words in.

For comparison, here's the first one hanging, for the first time, from a nail through the top of the leather strap that runs down the middle. Stitching the buttons on will give it more strength but it's strong already.

Early days for the second one, this will be approached differently and with more danger of failure. Eventually the pieces will be stitched together onto a canvas backing with leather strap reinforcement.

A little more
Part of a bird bracelet coming together and the button production line. Great to hear teeming rain on the tin shed roof

Unscrewed the perimeter bits and hot melt glued them back down then felt around with some chalk lines to determine where to grind down to, that's about it prooly for a while, exciting isn't it

Created a little willy willy dust storm tapering down the edges and making shallow depressions in the body. Good news, the hot melt glue stood up to all the work escept for one piece that didn't want to join in and spun off. Better get the numbering sequence I.D right as all the pieces have to come off and get stitched back down. Waiting on getting the letter brander now, saw an electric one element heater today that could be good as a heat source, wondering if the sandwich maker would do

Doesn't that look great. The black gives a nice boarder around the wood colour. Looks really nice.

Destruction restruction
Found some time to spend doing some more on this thing and worked mainly on the edges with a dremel rotating a tiny drum sander, hand sanding and wire brushing but still not there.
Applied acrylic metallic gold towards end of day which will mostly be wire brushed off.
Lost a few pieces along the way as I got a little over the top with fraying the edges, no matter, got a few spares.
Just some more edges to do and then on to some oil painting after some branded words here and there, then to the stitching on to canvas backing, like watching the grass grow.
