    Default Things in the shed

    DSC03971_ALT.JPG
Thought I'd take a few random shots of things going on inside the shed at the moment.

Been trying to steer towards an exhibition of some sort or other but prolly only half way there.

I think this is a veil for one of two monsters I'm making. It's made with Red Gum and barbed wire barbs thredded onto copper wire. I's not finished.

These are some letters I cut out and nailed to boards, the words are from Wikipedia’s definition of Australian Standard Pallets that I altered a bit. It's not finished yet. Behhind it is some black ships rope that I unraveled and will become part of the second monster. Up in the right hand corner is something I've had around for a while and it's going to be a bird with a long beak and it's far from finished.

This is a part of a monsters face. I've ebonised the wood, swashed it over umpteenth times with linseed oil and brushed it up with a good shoe and dust bin brush and nearly finished with a little Ubeaut waxy stuff. Hard to get a wide shot at this in a really cramped shed but another unraveled ship rope is attached by fence wire as hair which reaches to the ground. It's not finished either.

Shot in the last light of day.

I think it looks like you are having a lot of fun. Is there a deadline for this show?

Some fascinating and 'off the wall' stuff as usual. Really looking forward to some 'out of the closet' shots of the finished work.

Its an interesting comment on the differences in how individuals approach their work though... I usually can't stand to have a work half finished. The raw material may sit for a while (years sometimes) waiting for inspiration, but once started, I can't seem to think about anything else until its finished. I almost never have more than one project on the go at once.

It's pretty loose at the moment Sebastian but I'm aiming for next year some time and in the months leading up to it I'll prolly make a list of all the finishing touches that need to be done, go around the bend trying to cross them all off and end up in a heap on opening night

Thanks Whittling They're all stories of some kind and follow my thoughts along the way, some become idle then I move on and as time goes by I revisit them usually in a different light and they're transformed into something else. If I had more time to devote to art I may get things done in a different manner but I doubt it, I'd prolly just have more things on the go at one time

Going on a big jet plane tomorrow to see our babies on the other side of the world
    Be good, see you soon
