SSshhhhhhhh! again!
Most of my carvings get foisted off to friends and rellies so I don't have much around to show. But here's a few that I had snaps of......A friend has a horse that he recued and he dotes on her to the point that he would keep her in the house if he could anyway, he was dropping hints that he would like one of my carvings soooo of course I did one of his horse LOL
There are also a couple of Wood spirits, one in a walking stick I made, and the other in a scrap piece of silver birch.
The remaining snaps are of a nude carved in a Redhead match which was harder to photograph than it was to make
Now, wouldn't it be nice if some of the Lookenpeepers out there would join in and post a few snaps?
Regards......John

Hi John,
That horse looks pretty well fit for the glue factory! What timber did you use? I like the spirit faces too.
Cheers,Andy Mac

Thanks Andy,
The pattern for the horse was in a copy of "Wood Carving Illustrated" which I subscribe to (really great magazine...plenty of tutorials and projects) Originally named Dynamite, I renamed her Jesse for my friends horse <grin> Didn't have a piece of wood large enough, so glued up some 4x2 framing pine (Radiata?) NEVER again !!!
Still, it's said that "It's a bad day when you don't learn something new" LOL

Thankyou fellers for the interest and kind words. And yes Spirit, was hoping to stir enough interest to maybe get some others thinking about joining in and getting the board firing a bit....
POINT OF INTEREST!!
Wrote to the board owner about passing on some details of a bloke I met recently, didn't want to cross any lines re advertising on the site. No answer yet.....so I will just say that he has a stock of fairly exotic timbers such as Sassafras, Myrtle, and Huon Pine, to name a few.......interested? then email me privately, and I will pass on his contact details ok?
John
