    Default Sufferance

    Hello Everybody.

    This piece is a surrealist interpretation of inner mental strength, it is sculpted from a single piece of Grey Gum and is life size. It seldom gets exhibited, and this is likely the last.

    These are some of the progress photos. Firstly the log

    Then some basic forming. Mainly this was just a bit of chainsaw work, a few plunge cuts and nipping things off here and there;

    Then a little detailing;

    All up the whole process took 4 weeks. If I was to condense that down to actual working time I'd guess at 8 hours a day, everyday for 2 weeks.

    Thanks Crunchie, glad you like it.

    It does tend to have a polarising capacity insomuch as people either really like it, or really hate it. Either way it provokes an emotional response, I can live that.

    Who would have thought that it started off as a chainsaw carving, wow! Love it.
    The stand suits it really well, too, great design choice.

    Bedankt. Het was nogal een reis om te maken. Excuses voor de vertaling.
