    Meta-Niche?
Smaller than small. Uber-luxe. Well, just gotta get into these things before 3D printers start dreaming of electric sheep.

It's certainly no easy task you have given yourself there Raav, just the thought of carving all those hands would put me off.
I wouldn't like to fight this guy. Keep the W.I P. coming.

It is crazy but it is amazing. Woodcarvers are very skillful people.

Is there anywhere else you can hang a towel on?

    Thanks all.

Yeah Rob, I knew it would be 'challenging'...and it is. Perhaps I'll bring out a line of 'Rods for your own back' when this is over. Has to be easier.
And yeah - end grain. The mother in law of grains. Thankfully the worst of it is over.

Just sorting out the torso, legs and base. Unfortunately (or fortunately) its a bit late to be introducing another limb from which something may be....hung.

My, but you have been busy!
I was going to ask about the grain direction in the arms.
But I see in post #13 that it's the carving solution.
Certainly an object to use for kerchiefs and scarves!

I'll agree that poplar holds nice detail, I've used it for wood block printing.
Seems in the city, all I can get is 12mm x 150mm, meant to be used as the
sides in drawers, draws as you might call them, in cupboards.
