Default while waiting for the final measurments...

I decided to train with the model of capitals i'll have to carve for a church organ furniture.
The model was taken on a wood panel in a church. Mine has the same size, 12cm wide, but the commissioned ones will be about 25-30cm. I only carved a face plus an angle. It's made of birchwood, not very dry.
The moulding on the top (the "tailloir") is a separated piece to let you carve easily the volutes (and was done bad and fast ).
This time spent was not a waste, I bet it will help for the big ones.

Thinking of finishint it half and cut the waste. Put it on a piece of column, it will look finished.
The last pict is the model.

    Thx !

Here's what i did. Dunno what i will do with it but at least it looks finished.
I re-made the top moulding along the grain.
The geometrical shapes of the column was quite good for training !

Looks like an elegant wine glass holder to me.
Maybe a slurp of Chateau Cheval Blanc?
    Every kitchen needs one.

If that was a prototype/exercise, I'm sure the real ones will be even better.
