Another with the walking stick bug.
I have just started making walking/hiking sticks and have destroyed numerous efforts at steam bending wood to make a curved handle walking sticks. I live in Roma, Qld. so I have access to Brigalow, Cyprus Pine and various Eucalypt species. Can anyone advise me on some local saplings that I could try in the steam box?

Hi Grumpster
Some bent handle walking sticks are bent in/during their growth cabbage comes to mind. I think it works best with light weight wood stock like hickory and chestnut, etc bit you might need to have the thin branches to bend them.
Here's the link to a good video. >CLICK HERE< You may have already seen it but well worht a look if you haven't.
Cheers - Neil
