Wall piece
Haven't been carving much due to the heat but managed to carve this little wall piece out of some odd bits of Huon pine to "keep my hand in" on the cooler days.
Weather is starting cool down now so I'll have to think of some bigger projects to tackle.

Thanks cqvillas & Whittling, You'll be seeing mostly wall art from me for a while as I don't have much left in the way of thicker blocks for in the round carving.
Just curious Whittling, have Carbatec in S.A. stopped selling wood? they have over here.

They've never sold wood of which I am aware... though my association with them is only a few years old. The major 'exotic' timber yard in Adelaide (Otto's) is only just down the road so it probably was never considered worthwhile.

Interesting concept you've going there Rob, sort of ghost like, what made you think of it if you don't mind me asking?

Your conceptual and carving skills are really rising quickly.
Yeah. Where did that idea come from (unless it's a secret)?
If we all went around into the next room, do we get to see
the other side, even her knees?

Springwater, I'd like to say it was an original idea but it's not, I found these pictures done in clay and the lady is from a painting, I just adapted the two.
Hope you can open the Document ok.
R.V. You'll have to use your imagination for the other side, I don't think I'd get away with posting a reverse side on here

Thanks Rob, I'm sure I've seen some other variation of that concept along the line somewhere

I like your interpretation because it is calm, pensive and relaxed = she's sitting.
I wouldn't worry too much about what you can or can't post.
Take a look in the "sandstine" thread. I'm sure it's a typo, meant to be "sandstone."
But the subject carving sure ain't a mudguard off a ute.
