Looking good Arty but I can't enlarge the thumbnails. Is the problem at my end or are others having the same problem?

    good one Arty,
you pick some tricky poses to carve,
BTW when are you going to let me send you some decent carving timber?

what if the hokey pokey is really what it's all about?

Impressive set of power tools, Underfoot....would you like to share some info? You see, I didn't need power tools until now, since my usual work was mostly in the field of the architectural woodcarving; Now that I've started a series of abstract sculptures, and the best timber available to me is ash, I dont feel like working with the mallet for hours( and the summer is very hot in Spain)So...I just bought a grinder and the PRO-4 woodcarver disk, and now there's no stopping me,on the pics you post I see the other Arbotech disk, how long before you have to change the blades?(they are a bit expensive here ih Spain) One more: what's the green tool next to the angle grinders?-(looks like some sort of a strait grinder)-and what do you use it for?I've got more questions, but I guess its better to ask later

    Hey Artesano,
the first on the left is a rotary chisel, its got 3 fixed carbide teeth, I've had it for at least 10 years and only sharpened it a few times
-next one is a arbortech mini carver, I use their carbide disc on hardwood and standard disc on softwood, (the standard discs are not too expensive over here,)
the die grinders(straight grinder) fit all sorts of bits from burrs to router bits to homemade carbide cutters, vary handy tool,(can take a bit of getting used to because they can get a bit cranky at 25,000 rpm)
next time I post a WIP I'll take better pics of the tools and what they can do.

That would be very kind of you, mate-the arbotech mini carver is the next thing on my list, but here I' ve seen only the standart disc-guess I'll have to sharpen it now and then; ash is not so hard anyway. The die grinder looks promising-like some version of the engraving tools used in the small scale carving, but with much more muscle-is that correct?

A 100% percent abstract stuff in my case- I'm finishing 2 pieces I started 2 years ago, and have three more blocks of wood glued and bandsawed, redy for the rough work.I'm sort of building a portfolio, though I'l be damned if I know why

thats so you can have a major solo exhibition at a prestigious european gallery and become famous and ferociously wealthy and hire dozens of assistants to do all the hack work and then forget all about us on this forum and .......
